Center First Christian Reformed Church is located just 2 blocks south of
84th Street, and 1 block west of Byron Road. If you would like to visit,
or interested learning what the church is like, or moving into the area,
please consider worshiping with us. If you have never worshiped in a Christian Reformed Church, here is what you can expect. Morning service begins at 9:30. Greeters will welcome you as you walk in, and answer any questions you may have. If you have young children, we provide nurseries for them if you choose. When your ready to be seated, an usher will help you to find a seat and give you a bulletin. ( there is no reserved seating) . The bulletin contains the order of worship on the inside of the cover sheet and a visitor's card on the back cover, which we would like for you to fill out. It's only used to send you a welcome letter, no one will call on you unless you ask. Music plays in important role at Byron First. You'll find a refreshing blend of contemporary praise songs and traditional hymns are used to praise God. But the highest priority is placed on proclaiming God's will for our lives through reading the Bible and preaching of His word. Each service is centered around a passage from the Bible and explaining what God expects from his people in return for His gift of Salvation to us. During each morning worship service, two collections are taken to support our missions, Christian Schools and the ongoing cost of the church. You are not required to put anything in the collection plate if you choose not to. During the morning service, many of the children, ages 4-5, go to the children's service. They are excused about 15 minutes after church begins. Worship services generally last about 1 hours. In the summer, coffee, punch and cookies are served after the morning worship.
Afternoon services begin at 5:00. The first 10 - 15 minutes are
spent in singing. Again, the service last about 1 hour. The average age
of members of Byron First is probably considered young, but the church
is made up of a well blend age group. While there
are many young families and children, there are also a nice group of senior
Christians as well. What ever your age, visitors and new members will
find many families of their own age. |
